Lamb in Yogurt Sauce

makes 6 (1 cup) servings
Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt
-
2 teaspoons fresh grated gingerroot
-
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon cayenne (ground red) pepper
-
½ teaspoon turmeric
-
½ teaspoon ground cumin
-
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
-
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
-
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1 tablespoon ground paprika
-
1 ½ pounds lean, boneless lamb
-
garnish: chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:

Combine all ingredients except for lamb and cilantro; mix well

Cut lamb into bite-sized pieces and coat well with yogurt and spices mixture
-
Cook in slow cooker, covered, for 8 hours on LOW
-
Garnish with cilantro, if desired
-
Serve with hot cooked basmati rice
